Pyrolube BN 5026: Water-Based Boron Nitride Concentrate
Pyrolube BN 5026 is a water-based hexagonal boron nitride concentrate made by Pyroflux India for plants that coat large areas and would rather ship water from the tap than from a drum. It is diluted on site to the solids content the job needs and then sprayed, brushed or dipped like any ready-to-use BN coating. Typical duties are launders, troughs and ladles in aluminium casthouses, permanent moulds and die-casting dies, crucibles and furnace hardware, and the dummy block and die in extrusion. It was developed as a functional equivalent to imported BN concentrate grades and runs through the same equipment at similar dilutions; a short trial on your own tooling is the quickest way to confirm it. Supplied in 1 kg samples to 200 kg drums from Noida.

What It Is
| Solid lubricant | Hexagonal boron nitride, fine grade |
|---|---|
| Form | Water-based concentrate; white liquid |
| Dilution | With clean water on site, to the ratio on the data sheet for the duty (thin release film or thicker barrier) |
| Application | Spray, brush, roller or dip; thin coats, dried before service |
| Film | White, dry, carbon-free; not wetted by molten aluminium, magnesium or zinc |
| Pack sizes | 1 kg sample; 5, 20, 50 and 200 kg |
Particle-size distribution is checked on a laser diffraction analyser lot by lot; a certificate is available with each delivery.
Where a Concentrate Makes Sense
Casthouse Launders And Troughs
Large areas coated at a thin, economical dilution; touched up between casts. Pair with the casting page for the full launder routine.
Ladles, Skimmers And Crucibles
A thicker dilution builds a barrier that stops dross sticking and extends refractory life.
Die Casting Dies And Permanent Moulds
A release film on cores and cavities where a water-based product suits the process.
Extrusion Dummy Blocks And Dies
Diluted thin and sprayed; for the billet surface itself Pyrolube 20 is the dedicated grade.
Common Questions
How does BN 5026 compare with the imported concentrate I use today?
It was developed as a functional equivalent and is applied the same way at similar dilutions. Send us the product name and the duty and we will recommend the dilution and a trial quantity.
What dilution do I use?
Thin for release films on dies and dummy blocks; thicker for barriers on launders and ladles. The data sheet gives the starting ratios; move toward the thinnest film that still does the job.
Can it be diluted with ordinary tap water?
Clean water is fine. Very hard or dirty water can destabilise any aqueous suspension; if in doubt use DM water.
Do you supply a technical data sheet and SDS?
Yes, both, by email within one working day of a request.
Tell Us The Process; We Will Recommend The Grade
Substrate, process temperature, atmosphere and how you prefer to apply it. That is everything we need to point you at the right product, send a sample, or quote.
